Makak made by Sarah (Sally) Taunchy, 1860 (maker confirmed by quillwork inscription on birchbark label inside), RCIN 84305. 10.0 x 18.0 x 11.0 cm.

Sarah (Sally) Taunchy, aged 55, was married to John Taunchy, hunter and farmer. The 1861 census lists her as unable to read or write.
